Had a lovely Sunday lunch at this characterful pub / restaurant, we were served by Reece who was polite; cordial and helpful, thank you. We have been coming to this pub for several years now and have even enjoyed Christmas lunch here in a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Absolutely love this pub. The fires really make your visit so chill and cosy, had the signature burger and it was delicious. Louis let us know about the refurbishment so cannot wait to visit again I love this pub!

Food was cooked to perfection. Sunday roast was piping hot and portion size was huge 100% recommend to anyone and will be back soon

We turned up at 19:30 for our reservation booked 4 days prior. We were told our table was unavailable and directed to the bar. We waited at the bar for over an hour (having one drink) before having to ask to we had been forgotten about at which point we were told by a rather embarrassed member of staff that we had been forgotten about. We said never mind and were seated, and tried to be very reasonable about it. We then had 3 attempts at ordering as nothing off the menu was available, the weekend menu only had a couple of options left and we ended up getting burger and pizza which to be honest we didn’t need to travel all the way to Alwalton to get. When the bill finally came it had “drunk refusal on it” despite us only having ordered 2 drinks. We we queried it with the waiter taking our paying he said it was a mistake and when we dared to say “bit of an offensive mistake” he then got aggressive. At this point I completely forgot I had a £10 off voucher so have now paid more than I needed to and don’t want to be further humiliated by raising it with staff. Needless to say you have just lost a customer of over 6 years. I have never had such a disappointing experience in a Peterborough restaurant.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at The Cuckoo. The food was exceptional—beautifully cooked, full of flavor, and well worth the price for the quality. Despite it being a busy Saturday, the staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely caring, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The pub itself is lovely, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. It’s the perfect spot for a great meal and a relaxed evening. We’ll definitely be returning!

We live locally in Ortan and have visited semi-regularly. However, during our last three visits, at least one person in our party was unable to get an item due to it not being available, including the peppercorn sauce, which has been consistently disappointing.
Additionally, we noticed that the restaurant was quite cold, making it uncomfortable to fully enjoy our meal.
I did share this with the management team but did not get a response.

I've eaten here a few times whilst away on business and always enjoy it. Great pub atmosphere serving good food, traditional ales all with great service. Until the next time.

Food was okay, lasagne was good quality but quite small, beer was bottom of the barrel so made us sick and after sitting down, we were told by staff that our table was reserved for 45 minutes time
